Adik-adik siswa Kelas 4 SD/MI atau yang sederajat, setiap di pertengahan semester tentunya kalian menghadapi Ulangan Tengah Semester (UTS) atau yang sekarang istilah itu dinamakan Penilaian Tengah Semester (PTS). Ulangan Tengah Semester (UTS) atau Penilaian Tengah Semester (PTS) biasanya diadakan selama dua kali dalam satu Tahun Pelajaran yaitu Ulangan Tengah Semester Ganjil dan Ulangan Tengah Semester Genap. Ulangan Tengah Semester Ganjil diadakan di pertengahan semester Ganjil, sedangkan Ulangan Tengah Semester Genap diadakan di pertengahan semester Genap.

Penilaian Tengah Semester (PTS) atau Ulangan Tengah Semester (UTS) adalah kegiatan yang dilakukan untuk mengukur pencapaian kompetensi peserta didik di pertengahan Semester. Cakupan penilaian meliputi seluruh indikator yang merepresentasikan semua KD pada semester tersebut. Hasil penilaian tengah semester selanjutnya diolah dan dianalisis untuk mengetahui ketuntasan belajar peserta didik. Hasil penilaian ini dapat dimanfaatkan untuk program remedial, pengayaan, dan pengisian rapor.
